Eileen Bechler
Upper E Montessori Teacher

Hi, my name is Eileen Bechler. It has been my joy to be a part of GPA as a Montessori teacher! Many years ago, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the State College of New Jersey. Then, I went to Northwestern University to earn a Master’s degree in vocal music performance, spending the following decade getting married, growing our family, and singing professionally as a mezzo-soprano with various ensembles, including the Chicago Symphony Chorus. During this time, my family and I lived in an intentional urban community, learning to lean into racial reconciliation and fair housing practices. Ten years later, after spending a year in voluntary service, Mark and I moved our young family to Denver! I went to Metro State University and took coursework to add Elementary and Special Education to my teaching endorsement. My first job in DPS was as the music teacher for Gilpin Montessori. Montessori? What is that? I fell in LOVE with Montessori, went back to school again, for two years, to be certified with the American Montessori Society as both a Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary Montessori guide. Finally, I continued my Montessori training at St. Catherine University, earning a second Master’s degree in Education, Advanced Montessori Studies. Most recently, I took 72 hours of professional development from the American Montessori Society as a part of their Anti-Bias Anti Racist Certificate Program. One thing I love most about Garden Place is how much I learn from my students and their families. It is my joy to partner with you, your children, and our Garden Place Community.
