Hello! I’m AJ Romero, and I’m honored to be the Assistant Principal at Garden Place Academy. My journey in education spans a decade with Denver Public Schools, where I’ve had the privilege of working in various capacities to support and uplift our students. Prior to joining Garden Place Academy, I held multiple roles at Smith Elementary School, including Assistant Principal.
I graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and furthered my education at Colorado State University and The University of Northern Colorado. My passion for athletics led me to coach high school girls’ varsity basketball for over eight years at both John F. Kennedy High School and West High School.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, I am deeply rooted in this community and committed to making a positive impact. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, exploring the great outdoors, and spending quality time with my family. I have three wonderful dogs and two kids, one of whom is a proud student at Garden Place Academy.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a vibrant and supportive school community and look forward to contributing to our students' growth and success.
