Field
Experiences
Each year, the regular classroom curriculum is enhanced through
field experiences. Every class participates in field trips to
many different locations. Students are able to go the museum,
zoo, Bluff Lake, Littleton Historical Museum, Ocean Journey and
Colorado History Museum to name a few. The most extensive field
trip is for fifth grade students. Each year, the fifth grade students
go on a four-day trip across Colorado. The purpose of the trip
is to learn about the history and geography of the state. The
students visit places such as the Colorado National Monument,
Mesa Verde, and the Sand Dunes. The trip is funded through the
generosity of a local businessman.
After School Classes
Students are able to participate in after school classes. Through
ArtReach and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, students
are able to take advantage of art and theater classes.
Enrichment Activities
Each year, the school sponsors three activities for our students.
Students may participate in the Science Fair, Young Authors and
the Art Show.
Parent Involvement
Throughout the year, parents are invited to participate in activities
that support the educational environment, provide family fun and
are of community interest. Parents are always welcome at Garden
Place Academy.
